The Bicentennial Committee is excited to be giving each of the 34 municipalities a Kousa Dogwood tree as a commemorative Bicentennial Tree. Don Mould's Planation will plant the trees in their designated locations picked by each community this spring. Plaques produced by Gold Star Awards in Elyria will also be installed designating the tree as a Bicentennial tree planted in 2024 for posterity.
Having the same tree planted in each of the 34 designates municipal entities is a way to celebrate our heritage and the ties that bind us in our Northern, Southern, Western, and Eastern portions of the county.
We would like to thank the Lorain County Visitors Bureau for funding the trees and plaques to make this possible.
